Workshop Description: The games and exercises used in Applied Improvisation utilize rules and agreements that produce the ideal social framework for exploring ideas and information. These rules allow improvisers onstage and people on the stage of life to create something wonderful together because they are designed to promote a space of psychological safety and mutual support. Research shows that skills and information learned in such a positive emotional atmosphere are more likely to be available when under stress in real-life situations. This workshop will examine the exciting breakthroughs in social-emotional learning applicable to therapeutic, educational and professional development settings.
